There are very few diseases that are as frightening and dangerous as cancer. When someone gets the news that they have been stricken with this horrible disease, a myriad of emotions must purge the mind. Even the most positive prognosis will leave you emotionally crippled for a while.

Many wonder why in this day and age, with all of our technology, why we haven't cured this disease. Granted great strides have been made but cancer is still one of the top 10 killers in the USA today. Another phenomenon we are faced with is why cancer is misdiagnosed so often. Reports indicate that cancer is misdiagnosed up to 20 percent of the time.

Breast Cancer Misdiagnosis

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women, and10% of women will suffer breast cancer in their lives. There have been lots of breakthroughs in treatment and the survival rates are higher than ever with early diagnosis. It is important to catch the cancer early because it can easily spread to another bodily system as well. Unfortunately many doctors misdiagnose breast cancer as something less dangerous, a mistake that can cause devastating consequences.

Colon cancer is the third most common type of cancer and second deadliest cancer in the Western world. It is aggressive and deadly if not discovered early, and tragically many doctors fail to diagnose the cancer properly. Colon cancer symptoms are usually confused with less deadly conditions which allows the cancer to progress further.

Colon can occur for a variety of reasons, including poor diet, bad gastrointestinal health, or family history. Many people live for years without knowing they have the cancer, mostly because it was missed by their doctor during routine examinations.
